HOW TO ---- Choosing a Pump for Your Water Feature or Waterfall
Picking a pump for your waterfall involves some planning and careful consideration. To successfully choose a pump you must calculate the head pressure and select the desired flow rate.
Head pressure refers to the friction created when water is pumped uphill or over long distances.
For instance, let’s say you find a unit that says it pumps 3,000 gallons per hour. As you add head pressure, the overall water flow of the pump is reduced because the pump has to work harder. This is why pumps have a pump flow chart to illustrate the effects that head pressure has on the pump.
The width of your waterfall, length of stream or distance of tubing all play a role in determining your head pressure.
The desired flow rate will determine how much water will need to move through the feature in order to achieve the desired effect. For a moderately flowing waterfall, you should be looking to achieve 1,500 gph (gallons per hour) per foot of waterfall width. A slight increase or decrease in this number will strengthen or slow the speed of the waterfall.

TECH TIP
The rotors of asynchronous TidalWave Pumps are water-cooled, with a screen to keep grit out of the rotor chamber. Keeping the screen clean will prevent overheating and prolong the life of the pump. TT-Series pumps are for use in water only. Water temperature should never exceed 95° F (35° C).
If your pond freezes in the winter, it is important to remove, drain, clean and store the pump in a cool dry place until spring.

Anjon Monsoon Pumps

Variable Speed Controller
Vary the output of our asynchronous pumps wirelessly by remote control! Unlike integrated variable speed controllers, where any failure of pump or controller renders everything non-operational, our Variable Speed Controller operates separately from the pump. The VSC allows you to set both on and off times as well as drop to 25% of the total flow, in 10 levels of adjustment. Overriding the control box with the remote control does not change the settings; pump will return to the preset on/off times after the next cycle. When powering on, the Variable Speed Controller sends full power to the pump to get it started and then dials it back down to the level it was on when last turned off.

To synchronize the remote to the VSC, simply plug in the control box and it will automatically search for the nearest remote control. Touching any button on the remote will immediately synchronize it to the control box.
